CIA 2025 Pizza Cook Off

It’s that time of year again Pizza Cook-off time! At the Culinary Institute of America we love our cooking competitions, seeing students come together and get creative is truly unmatched. This year 12 teams brought so many flavors and creative ideas. On Sunday March 30 guests and students lined up outside the gym excited to taste delicious pizzas. When students and guests entered the competition, they got a pizza passport that got stamped at every booth. Once they filled their passport, they could get in line to vote for their favorite pizza and their favorite team booth.
While walking around the gym they got to talk to different clubs here on campus and talk to some of our sponsors such as McCormick, Performance Foodservice, and Saputo! Students got a complimentary goodie bag from our sponsors and everyone got the chance to make a custom pizza sign by our friends at Team Coyote.
People’s Choice winner was Spice Route, they had a Korean/Mexican fusion pizza. The people’s choice winner for the best booth was the Crust Busters. They had a take on the Ghostbusters, they even had their own jingle! Now the judges had a difficult decision of deciding who the winners were… teams brought so many different ideas and flavors.
In third place was Spice Route with a Korean/Mexican fusion pizza it had just the right amount of kick. Second place was Slice Masters with a deep-fried pizza dough, vodka sauce, peso sauce, and a Parmesan cheese sauce—it was delicious! First place winner, winning $1,250, was the Fresh Veg team, they brought fresh and unique flavors with prosciutto, pomegranate, and local veggies. The 2025 Pizza Cook-Off leaves us full of flavor, fun, and unforgettable memories—until next year, pizza lovers!
