Transfer Students: Welcome to Your New College!

  • Continue Your College Journey at the CIA

Transfer to the CIA and use your previous college experiences to pursue an exciting career in the food and hospitality industry. The CIA Credit Transfer Policy allows you to apply relevant earned credits, life achievements, and select exam results toward your degree. Our admissions staff is ready to ensure your smooth transition to the CIA.

    Your Transfer Advantage

Whether you’re a community college student, a college graduate, or an adult with relevant life experience…welcome! Transfer to The Culinary Institute of America and you can:

    • Start or advance your food career—quickly. Transferring credits into a CIA degree program will save you time and tuition!
    • Get the food career you’ve always wanted. Did you start down a different career path and are now ready to follow your true passion? Apply the college credits you’ve already earned (a minimum of 30) to the CIA bachelor’s degree completion program in culinary arts or baking and pastry arts.
    • Qualify for scholarships and financial aid. Unlike many other colleges, the CIA reviews all new students for financial assistance the same way. That means you’ll be eligible for the same financial aid and scholarship opportunities as CIA freshmen entering directly from high school.

    So, What Credits Will Transfer?

Learn more about what qualifies on our Transfer Credit Policy page. If you have any questions, please contact transfercredits@culinary.edu.

  • “Almost every profession has an outstanding training ground. The military has West Point, music has Juilliard, and the culinary arts has the Institute.”
