Anne M. Henry

Associate Professor—Liberal Arts

Anne Henry is an associate professor of Liberal Arts at CIA’s New York campus, where she teaches College Writing, Food Literature, Food Writing, and Food in Film as part of the college’s Food Studies and Liberal Arts bachelor’s degree program.

A member of CIA’s faculty since 2001, she served as a foundational member of CIA’s fledgling writing department, working to develop a robust writing program with the goal of helping students strengthen their voices as writers and thinkers in the evolving world of food studies. Her courses explore the connections between storytelling, culture, and the human experience of food through literature and media.

Previously, at The United States Chess Federation in New Windsor, NY, she was copyeditor and writer before advancing to director of marketing, advertising, and outreach.

Professor Henry earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she also taught freshman composition while completing her graduate studies.

When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys running, yoga, hiking, painting, writing, and spending time with her family.
