Chili and cheddar cornbread.
Describe a day in your life at your job/business.
Growing and developing individuals from sourcing new talent to their training from day one and on their upward path as a valued member of our team. Leading by example to uphold our service standards to create the best experiences.
Tell us about a few highlights of your career.
To go from college directly to North End Grill for my first experience in the professional field and to now be one of the leaders of our team as a manager is an immensely rewarding experience. It is an honor I use to fuel my every day here and to drive my dedication to the team and nurturing from within for the hopes of doing what was done for me to others.
Do you have any advice for future or current CIA students?
If you have a passion for something, go full force and don’t look behind you.
What’s your best memory at the CIA?
Developing a network of friends that have turned into colleagues and life long connections I continue to have both within and outside the industry.
Kimberly Yu majored in culinary arts at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. She is the assistant general manager at Intersect by Lexus, a collaboration with Union Square Hospitality Group in New York City.
