Alumna is Best Pastry Chef in D.C.

Beverly Bates ’02 has been honored as 2013 Pastry Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, at the organization’s annual “RAMMY” Awards. The awards recognize the achievements of leaders in the restaurant industry in and around the nation’s capital. Bates is the pastry chef at Vidalia Restaurant, owned by fellow CIA graduate Jeffrey Buben ’78.

Several CIA alumni have won RAMMY Awards in recent years, including Todd Gray ’89, Barton Seaver ’01, Geoff Tracy ’98, and Eric Ziebold ’94.
