Executive Chef and restaurateur Michael Schulson is the charismatic chef and owner The Schulson Collective, which includes Alpen Rose, Guiseppe & Sons, Harp & Crown, Double Knot, Independence Beer Garden, Sampan, Graffiti Bar, Osteria, Schulson Catering, and DK Sushi all located in Philadelphia. In addition, he owns Monkitail in Hollywood, FL, and Izakaya at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.
A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Michael Schulson began honing his culinary skills at a young age, watching his mother and grandmother in the kitchen of his Long Island, NY home.
Chef Schulson perfected his unique style of Asian cooking not only in the U.S. but abroad as well. He participated in a cooking class in Thailand’s renowned Chang Mai Cooking School, practicing the traditional preparation of Thai cuisine, and worked at Spago and the Four Seasons Hotel, both in Tokyo.
While he was the executive chef at Buddakan in NYC, the restaurant was named one of America’s Top 50 Restaurants by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Chef Michael Schulson majored in culinary arts at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He is the executive chef and owner of the Schulson Collective based in Philadelphia, PA.
