Students Get Off Campus for a Knicks Game

Every semester here at CIA, there are opportunities for students to get off campus for a few exciting trips like Broadway shows in New York City, ice skating, professional soccer games, extreme ropes course, water tubing, and so much more for no more than $20 per person! For our last trip of the semester, we were fortunate enough to see the New York Knicks play the Chicago Bulls! Fifty-six students loaded onto a bus at 10 a.m. on a beautiful Sunday morning and took a two-hour ride into the city.
Once we got to the stadium everyone separated into groups and grabbed a quick bite before the game, then we headed to our seats. This game was truly one for the books—the energy was unmatched, and the performances were spectacular, especially the New York City Kids. With one minute left in the fourth quarter and the Knicks down two, Jalen Brunson makes an 11-foot pull-up jump shot to tie up the game and put it into overtime! Overtime was personally my favorite part of the game; you could tell how badly each team wanted to win this game. With 19.1 seconds left in the game, Josh Hart from the Knicks makes a tip shot and puts the Knicks ahead of the Bulls by one point! The final score of the game was 120-119 pulling the Knicks from seed three to seed two! After the game was over, we left with our groups and headed back to the bus, some of my friends and I got gyros from a street vendor as our snack for our drive back to campus. It’s always fun to get off campus and explore nearby destinations with my friends, especially right before finals week!
