Reduced Hours and Activities During Late July/August

We love to welcome campus visitors, but before you make your plans, please note that amazing changes are underway at the CIA campuses during the summer and our visiting hours and restaurant hours may be affected.

Please note that classes for degree and certificate program students at all of our U.S. campuses will not be in session from July 27–August 20, 2018. Classes will resume on August 21.

Admissions

  • The Admissions Office at all three campuses will be open to welcome prospective students and their families.

Restaurants

  • Since many of our restaurants rely on our students for the full CIA dining experience, please refer to www.ciarestaurantgroup.com for the most up-to-the-minute information.
  • At the New York campus, all restaurants will be closed during this period.
  • At the CIA at Greystone in St. Helena, California, The Bakery Café by illy will be open, but Gatehouse Restaurant will be closed.
  • At the CIA at Copia in Napa, California, The Restaurant at CIA Copia and Contimo Provisions will be open.
  • At the Texas campus, the CIA Live Fire Kitchen will be open Thursday–Sunday, and Nao will be closed.

    The Culinary Institute of America is located in Hyde Park, NY on the east bank of the Hudson River, three miles north of Poughkeepsie, midway between New York City and Albany on U.S. Route 9. The campus is easily reached by plane, train, or car.

    The CIA is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Albany and 2 hours from New York City, Hartford, CT, and Scranton, PA when traveling by car.

    The college is located on 1946 Campus Drive (Route 9), Hyde Park, NY 12538-1499.

    From North:
    New York State Thruway south to exit 18 at New Paltz. Follow Route 299 East to Route 9W south, crossing the Mid-Hudson Bridge to Route 9 north. Follow Route 9 for 3 miles. The CIA is on the left. OR: Route 9 south to Hyde Park. The CIA is on the right.

    From South:
    Henry Hudson Parkway north to the Saw Mill Parkway, north to the Taconic State Parkway, north to Interstate 84 West; or Hutchinson River Parkway to Interstate 684 North to Interstate 84 West. Follow I-84 to exit 13, Route 9 north. Follow Route 9 for 16 miles. The CIA is on the left. OR: New York State Thruway north to exit 18 at New Paltz.     From West:

    By Plane:

    Several airports are located within two hours of the CIA: Albany International Airport, Albany, NY; John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City; La Guardia Airport, New York City; Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ; Stewart International Airport, Newburgh, NY; and Westchester County Airport, White Plains, NY.

    By Train:

    Metro-North Commuter Railroad operates numerous trains daily from Grand Central Terminal in New York City to Poughkeepsie, NY. Amtrak offers connections to hundreds of major cities throughout the country. Taxi service is available to the CIA from the Poughkeepsie train station.
