What is your favorite dish to create?
It depends on the season! Living in NYC, I'm obsessed with the Union Square Greenmarket. That usually inspires my dishes! Recently it was the Leeks recipe from My Paris Kitchen cookbook, and ramp risotto.
Describe a day in your life at your job/business.
I work in our 'People and Culture' department, so I help our team with providing the best possible training to all of our employees. I spend most of my time facilitating training programs, or serving as an instructional designer to create new, experiential learning opportunities.
Tell us about a few highlights of your career.
One of my proudest moments was being recognized as a 'Family Values Awards' recipient at our 1st Annual Leadership Offsite at USHG. It was a very special moment to know that I am recognized as someone who 'walks the talk' of our leadership principles. I'm currently working on initiating a Women in Leadership affinity group at USHG, which I'm really excited about!
Do you have any advice for future or current CIA students?
Be humble enough to work your way up...you learn a lot along the way! Take risks to stretch beyond what you think you can do!
What's your best memory at the CIA?
Learning the discipline of mise-en-place! While I'm not currently working in a kitchen, those lessons still apply to what I do today!
