Hyde Park, NY – The Conrad N. Hilton Library at The Culinary Institute
of America (CIA) is the site of a new exhibit of international historic menus
from more than 50 countries.
On display is a selection of menus from the Bruce P. Jeffer menu collection, covering six continents and
restaurants in countries as disparate as Israel, the Congo, Greece, China, and
Guatemala. Dated menus include ones from Copenhagen in 1960; Buenos Aires in
1967; and Nassau, Bahamas in 1970.
Admission is free to view the exhibit, which will be on
display in the library's Donald and Barbara Tober Exhibit Room through
November 2013. When the college is in session, the Exhibit
Room is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 5
weekends. The Conrad N. Hilton Library is on the CIA campus, located
on Route 9
in Hyde Park.
The Culinary Institute of America's entire historical menu collection
includes more than 25,000 pieces and dates back to 1855.
