Hyde Park, NY – Internationally recognized chef, restaurateur, television personality, and author Maneet Chauhan returned to her alma mater as commencement speaker at the New York campus of The Culinary Institute of America on May 3.
Chef Chauhan, a 2000 CIA graduate, is the founder of the Nashville, TN-based Morph Hospitality Group, which includes her flagship Chauhan Ale & Masala House, along with Tansuo, The Mockingbird, and Chaatable. She also co-founded two breweries.
“Your CIA education is a like a perfect master sauce, and what you do with it will determine the outcome,” Chef Chauhan told the newest CIA alumni. “Every one of you has what it takes to make it big…Believe in yourself. Go out in this world, learn as much as you can, experiment, be adventurous, stay committed to your own vision, contribute to the culinary field, and never forget that every day is an opportunity to create history.”
The native of India is a regular judge on the Food Network’s Chopped. She has also competed on Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef, and Guy’s Grocery Games, and been a judge on Beat Bobby Flay, Worst Cooks in
America, Chopped Junior, and Chopped After Hours. Chef Chauhan’s first cookbook, Flavors of My World, reflects her pride in representing her Indian culinary heritage while incorporating the influences of her journeys and
experiences.
Named to the Nation’s Restaurant News Power List in both 2018 and 2019, Chauhan is a member of Indiaspora—an organization of the most influential Indian-Americans in the United States—and Les Dames d’Escoffier.
The entire CIA commencement ceremony, including Chef Chauhan’s address to recipients of associate degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts, can
