• Journey for Juniors

    Come get a sneak peek at the world's premier culinary college. This two-day program—available exclusively to current high school juniors—provides an exciting first-hand preview of life as a CIA student, and shines a spotlight on the many diverse career paths that a CIA degree opens up for you.

    During Journey for Juniors, you'll:

    • Attend and participate in captivating presentations and a cooking demo.
    • Work in CIA kitchens and bakeshops under the guidance of our expert faculty.
    • Chat with current students and get a fantastic taste of our world-class campus.
    • Learn about the wide variety of career opportunities in the amazing world of food.
    • Eat dinner in one of our award winning on campus student run restaurants.

    You can choose either the Culinary Arts experience or the Baking and Pastry Arts experience, but in either case be sure to apply online today—the program is limited to 18 students per class, per program date. The cost of $400 covers the program costs, hotel room for two on Thursday and Friday nights, and most meals. A parent or guardian must accompany you to the event.

    Requirements:

    • Personal Statement—in approximately 150 words, describe your interest in the foodservice industry and any industry experience you have in a classroom or work setting. Include your reasons for wanting to participate in this program and how it could influence your future plans.
    • Must be entering your senior year by the Fall of 2017, be at least 16 years of age, and be considering a culinary career or baking and pastry career.
    • One parent or legal guardian must accompany you. The parent will take part in all aspects of the program, with the exception of the kitchen class on Saturday.
