Matthew Johnson of Duluth, MN and
Kurtis Flaherty of Edgewater, MD recently earned
$10,000 in scholarships from Boar's Head. The lunch meat brand held a
competition in New York City in which the company asked teams of students to come up with new dishes inspired by its new Teriyaki-Style Chicken Breast.
Original recipes of the four finalist teams were judged based on taste, creative use of the product, presentation, and technical skill. The judges declared Johnson and Flaherty the Grand Prize winners with their
Asian-inspired steamed buns.
