Heather Feher ’09

National Director of Backstage Catering, Live Nation

“CIA really prepares students to have a future in this industry by giving a solid foundational knowledge.”

Heather Feher is a chef, herbalist, entrepreneur, and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with an associate degree in Culinary Arts whose 20+ year career has been anything but traditional—spanning four continents and reflecting a deep curiosity about food, wellness, and community.

She currently serves as National Director of Backstage Catering for Live Nation Entertainment, where she oversees culinary standards and implements new catering operations across more than 160 venues nationwide. Throughout her journey, she has remained committed to advocating for healthier, more sustainable kitchen cultures, because she believes that sustainability isn’t truly sustainable if it doesn’t include the well-being of the people behind the food.

Heather first fell in love with food in New Orleans, eventually working at Commander’s Palace shortly after Hurricane Katrina, an experience that shaped her understanding of resilience, hospitality, and food as identity. From there, she went on to train in some of the world’s most influential kitchens, including D.O.M. (São Paulo), Astrid y Gastón (Lima), and Chicago’s Alinea, where she was also part of the opening team for Next/The Aviary. Over the years, she has cooked for touring musicians all over the world, led high-profile events and galas, launched a restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and founded her own concept-driven pop-up and consulting company. Her work in R&D and product design—including medicinal cannabis—reflects her holistic, intentional approach to food and wellness. She’s been featured on Food Network, Netflix, and Hulu, as well as many other local media outlets. Each chapter has reinforced her belief that with a little creativity and courage, no dream is ever truly out of reach.
