Joseph Phelps Vineyards President Delivers CIA Commencement Address

St. Helena, CA, January 7, 2020 – Clarice Turner, a globally recognized senior management executive and president of Joseph Phelps Vineyards, spoke to graduates at the Culinary Institute of America’s Greystone campus in St. Helena, CA on December 19.

A trustee of CIA, Ms. Turner also serves on the advisory boards for Women of the Vine & Spirits and Delicato Family Vineyards. She is board member emerita of the National Restaurant Association and past president of the board of the Washington State University School of Business and its School of Hospitality’s Wine Business Management program.

Ms. Turner advised recipients of associate degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts to follow their passion and love what they do for a living.

Throughout much of her career, the ninth-generation Northern Californian has been a senior management executive for leading companies in the food and beverage industry, including Starbucks, Yum! Brands, and PepsiCo. Before joining Phelps, Ms. Turner was CEO of Carneros Associates, a strategic advisory firm she founded to guide businesses in transition.
