Please note that classes for degree and certificate program students at all of our U.S. campuses will not be in session from July 28–August 21, 2017. Classes will resume on August 22.

Alumnus is an Eater "Young Gun"

Jeremy Hoffman (Bachelor's '06)

Jeremy Hoffman (Bachelor's '06), chef de cuisine at Restaurant Eve in Alexandria, VA, has been named one of Eater.com’s Young Guns for 2013. The popular food- and chef-news website recently released its list of the 15 best up-and-coming chefs of the year.

Chef Hoffman worked for Drew Nieporent at Nobu 57 in New York City after earning his bachelor’s degree in culinary arts management at the CIA. He then served as commis and chef de partie at Thomas Keller's Per Se for two years. He became chef de cuisine at Restaurant Eve after just one year there. The restaurant’s food is special enough for President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to have their anniversary dinner there.

Jonathan Benno '93 was Keller’s chef de cuisine at Per Se when Hoffman worked there. "Jeremy came to us as a young cook and really excelled quickly in the kitchen," Benno told Eater. "He had all of the characteristics you need: integrity, work ethic, humility, sense of humor—he really shines in all of those areas."
