Assistant Professor in Table Service

Damir Juric is an assistant professor in Table Service at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Mr. Juric is maître d' instructor in the American Bounty Restaurant. The restaurant, which is also a classroom for students in the CIA's culinary arts degree program, features regional cuisines and ingredients indigenous to the Americas . His front-of-the-house class, Advanced Table Service, reviews the principles of fine service and hospitality in a restaurant setting, emphasizing customer service, wine and spirits, restaurant trends, and sales. Advanced Table Service is the final course before the college's Culinary Arts majors earn their associate degrees.

He has also taught Banqueting & Catering to CIA students pursuing their bachelor's and associate degrees in Culinary Arts.

Prior to joining the CIA faculty, Mr. Juric was senior maître d'hotel, maître d'hotel, and assistant maître d'hotel for Carnival Cruise Lines. He was also maître d'hotel and partner of Michelangelo's Restaurant in Naples, FL; captain at numerous restaurants in New Jersey and California; head waiter at Holly Street Bar & Grill in Pasadena, CA and for Aloha Pacific Cruises out of Honolulu, HI; and captain/maître d'hotel at the Park Restaurant in Zadar, Croatia.

Mr. Juric holds a diploma from the International Air Academy, Vancouver, WA and from the School of Economics and Tourism in Zadar, Croatia. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator (C.H.E.).
