PC Technician
The Culinary Institute of America, the world's premier culinary college, is looking for a PC Technician to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair PC desktop hardware, software and computer peripherals. Document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems. Perform systems backups, maintain tape rotation and perform restores.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation on new personal computers.
- Assist in basic Personal Computer software upgrades and installations.
- Perform daily User Support.
- Assist in maintaining Student Labs and other computing Resources.
- Assist in nightly backups.
- Assist in weekend backups.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Novell NetWare, Windows 2000/2003 Server, Windows 2000/XP operating systems.
- Basic understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of Novell ZENWorks, ConsoleOne, Novell Client.
- Experience with PC imaging and application distribution.
- Strong PC troubleshooting skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, IPX).
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must maintain a strong understanding of system backup principles and procedures.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Individual must be a team playing with good communication skills both orally and written.
