The Culinary Institute of America

  • Trips and Activities

Throughout the year, the Greystone Student Government sponsors a variety of events for students, most of which are free of charge. These events take place in various locations throughout campus:

    • Movie nights
    • Book signings
    • Semi-formals
    • Lecture series
    • Carnivals
    • Gardening
    • Game nights
    • Yoga

We also sponsor a variety of off-campus trips at a minimal cost to students. Destinations in the past have included:

    • Bothe State Park, Robert Louis Stevenson State Park, and Muir Woods
    • San Francisco
    • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
    • Local orchards, wineries, breweries, farmers markets, and food purveyors
    • Professional sporting events
    • Cosmic Bowling
    • Hiking, white water rafting, kayaking, and rock climbing

Need a break from campus? Dreaming of getting away from it all for a while?

Culinary explorations abound in the world-famous Napa Valley. Enjoy dining at local, Michelin-starred restaurants and explore the 400-plus wineries in Napa County alone. Expand beyond the valley and go to San Francisco for more world-class dining, museums, sports teams, and shows. If your interests are more rugged, you can go hiking and mountain biking locally in the Mayacamas Mountain Range and the Palisades. Or, there's skiing, snowboarding, and hiking at Lake Tahoe, Pacific deep sea fishing, and hiking in breathtaking Yosemite—all just a day trip away.
