  • How to Apply to the BPS Program for Current Students

    Confused about the BPS application process? Don't be. We are here to help guide you through the process. Choose your classification, follow these simple steps and you will be fast on your way to becoming a confirmed BPS student at the CIA.

    Choose your program:

    BPS Students complete the following steps:

    • Step 1: Confirm your BPS enrollment by making the $300.00 advanced tuition deposit and electronically signing the enrollment agreement
    • Step 2: Apply for Culinary Science or
    • Step 3: Choose a concentration (optional)
    • Step 4: File your FAFSA
    • Step 5: Contact the Student Financial & Registration Services (SFRS) to review billing and tuition

    • Step 6: Contact The Center for Academic Advising to schedule an advising session to go over BPS scheduling

    • Step 7: Contact Angie Budnick, transfer credit coordinator, to apply for transfer credit

    • Step 8: Apply for on-campus housing
      • Log on to the CIA Main Menu
      • Choose "Residence Life" on the side bar
      • Fill out the Housing Application and submit
      • You will receive notification of your room assignment via your CIA e-mail account about three weeks prior to your return date
    • Step 9: Contact the Safety Office to obtain a parking sticker if your vehicle information has changed. Commuter students should also have their on-campus door access checked

    • Step 10: Complete the Health Services TB Questionnaire
    • Step 11: Order your books

    AOS Students & Alumni (of one year or less) complete the following steps:

    • Step 1: Enroll in the BPS program for the first time
    • Step 2: Confirm your BPS enrollment by making the $300.00 advanced tuition deposit and electronically signing the enrollment agreement
    • Step 3: Apply for Culinary Science or
    • Step 4: Choose a concentration (optional)
    • For International Students Only:
      • I. Bank Statement
        A copy of a bank statement from a savings account, certificate of deposit, or money market account showing proof of funds on account by you or your sponsor in the amount of $80,000 U.S. dollars, OR a letter from the bank verifying that the required funds are on account for your education.
      • II. Letter of Support (PDF)
        A letter of financial support from your sponsor stating that he/she is willing to utilize the funds to cover your educational expenses in the bachelor's program.
      • III. Copy of passport

        Please send the above three materials to:

    Fast Track BPS

    • Step 1: Learn how you can complete the BPS program in less than one year
    • Step 2: Enroll in the BPS Fast Track Program
    • Step 3: Upon notification of acceptance, confirm your BPS enrollment by making the $300.00 advanced tuition deposit and electronically signing the enrollment agreement
    • Step 4: Apply for Culinary Science or
    • Step 5: Choose a concentration (optional)
    • For International Students Only:
      • I. Bank Statement
        A copy of a bank statement from a savings account, certificate of deposit, or money market account showing proof of funds on account by you or your sponsor in the amount of $80,000 U.S. dollars, OR a letter from the bank verifying that the required funds are on account for your education.

    CIA at Greystone & CIA San Antonio Transfer Students

    Transfer to the Hyde Park campus for the BPS program by completing the following steps:

    • Step 1: Complete the BPS declaration form
    • Step 2: Confirm your BPS enrollment by making the $300.00 advanced tuition deposit and electronically signing the enrollment agreement
    • Step 3: Apply for Culinary Science or
    • Step 4: Choose a concentration (optional)
    • For International Students Only:
      • I. Bank Statement
        A copy of a bank statement from a savings account, certificate of deposit, or money market account showing proof of funds on account by you or your sponsor in the amount of $80,000 U.S. dollars, OR a letter from the bank verifying that the required funds are on account for your education.

    • Step 2: Upon notification of acceptance confirm your BPS enrollment by making the $300.00 advanced tuition deposit and electronically signing the enrollment agreement
    • Step 3: Choose a concentration (optional)
    • For International Students Only:
      • I. Bank Statement
        A copy of a bank statement from a savings account, certificate of deposit, or money market account showing proof of funds on account by you or your sponsor in the amount of $80,000 U.S. dollars, OR a letter from the bank verifying that the required funds are on account for your education.
