The Culinary Institute has four Residence Halls situated on the banks of the Hudson River. More than 1,700 students reside on campus. Angell, Pick-Herndon and Rosenthal Halls were built in the early 1970's and house approximately 240 to 300 students per building in double and triple occupancy rooms with private baths. Hudson Hall opened its doors in 1986 and houses 399 students in single, double, triple, and quadruple person occupancy rooms. This building is equipped with community bathrooms on each floor. Each building has its own laundry facilities. In addition, all residence halls have computer labs. Pick-Herndon, Angell and Rosenthal each have a working kitchen.

Located on the north end of the campus, six new lodges – Cayenne, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Juniper, Clove, and Ginger – bring much needed relief to the housing crunch brought on by increased demand for CIA degree programs. The three-story buildings accommodate 424 CIA upper term Bachelor students. Each lodge has four-person suites with private bath, along with a shared main-floor kitchen and a great room. The lodges are grouped in a village-style arrangement, providing a feeling of community with inviting places to socialize and study.

A variety of living choices awaits you at your new home away from home. The college has four coed residence halls, with on-campus housing guaranteed for all new, first-time CIA students. Roommates are selected based on gender, age, and smoking/non-smoking preferences.

Rooms are furnished with a desk, chair, dresser, wardrobe, and bed for each student. All single-, double-, triple- and quadruple-occupancy rooms are air-conditioned and wired for telephone and television. In addition, a wireless network is installed in all residence halls. From your room, you can access campus resources such as the digital video library, library databases, student services information, and the Internet, all over a high-speed, wireless connection.
