Hello, my name is Adam. I am 21 years old and from Delafield, WI. Currently, I am in the bachelor's program studying culinary arts management.
I knew that I wanted to pursue my career in the hospitality industry since I was very young. I started working in a few different restaurants when I was 14 years old and have held a variety of positions in back-of-the-house as well as front-of-the-house. I know that after I graduate I want to continue my career in the front-of-the-house. I graduated with my associate degree in May of 2007 and decided to continue on to the Bachelor's degree program because I knew that I wanted to be in some sort of management position.
Recently I just went on a food and wine seminar that is a part of the Bachelor's curriculum. I got the chance to go to Italy and learn not only about the great food and wine but also the history, art, and culture. It truly has been a highlight of the Bachelor's program. Thus far, the CIA has opened my eyes to the many options in the foodservice industry and opened many doors to a bright future. It has been a great experience so far which has helped me grow not only as an individual but as a professional.
